Nordic Blue 2026: Meet This Year’s Batch

The Nordic Blue 2026 accelerator’s first bootcamp week has officially kicked off, with 19 early-stage ventures joining bootcamps in Turku and Stockholm this week. We’re excited to introduce this year’s selected teams.

The cohort brings together companies from across Europe, representing six countries and developing practical solutions for the Blue Economy – from maritime decarbonisation and water quality monitoring to aquaculture, biodiversity restoration, and circular materials.

Over the coming months, the ventures will work with industry partners, coaches, researchers, and investors, participate in four bootcamps across the Nordics, and pilot real-world solutions within the Blue Economy.

The ventures that have been selected for the 2026 cohort and why they were selected:

Norway

TuniSea 🇳🇴 develops marine-based high-protein food ingredients from tunicate biomass to help food manufacturers lower climate impact and reduce reliance on ultra-processed plant proteins.

The venture was selected due to its innovative approach to transforming marine residuals into scalable, climate-friendly food solutions that support sustainable use of marine resources.

Denmark

Race for Oceans Technology 🇩🇰 is an impact start‑up developing AI‑driven detection solutions that identify microplastic pollution in coastal areas that cannot be collected manually, with the long‑term vision of integrating detection models into drones and terrain‑adapted robots for mapping and cleanup.

The venture was selected for its innovative use of AI and robotics to tackle microplastic pollution at its source on land and beaches, offering scalable technology that supports healthier maritime ecosystems across Nordic and Baltic Sea regions.

ReefCircular 🇩🇰 creates artificial reef structures tailored to specific marine ecosystems using science-inspired designs that provide habitat, shelter and feeding grounds to accelerate marine biodiversity recovery in degraded environments.

The venture was selected for its innovative approach to ecosystem restoration using circular, marine-safe reef designs that support biodiversity, coastal resilience and healthier sea ecosystems across Nordic and Baltic regions-showing potential biodiversity increases in pilot deployments.

Sensemakers 🇩🇰 develops autonomous sensor-equipped unmanned surface vessels (USVs) that collect year-round environmental data on water quality, pollutants and marine ecosystems to support research and coastal monitoring.

The venture was selected for its innovative approach to cost-efficient, scalable maritime environmental monitoring using robotic platforms and live data dashboards, providing actionable insights for marine conservation and sustainable use of the seas.

PEATZ 🇩🇰 uses satellite, drone and sensor data combined with automated workflows to simplify access to climate and biodiversity funding for landowners, helping them restore ecosystems, cut emissions and unlock subsidies for nature-based solutions.

The venture was selected for its innovative use of geospatial intelligence to drive scalable environmental action and support data-driven restoration efforts that contribute to climate mitigation and sustainable land-sea interactions.

Just-measure 🇩🇰 provides wireless water-quality monitoring solutions that deliver real-time data on key parameters such as nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, dissolved oxygen, pH and salinity via remote sensors and cloud connectivity.

The venture was selected for its innovative, data-driven approach to accessible water-quality measurement and analysis, supporting evidence-based decision-making for environmental management and nutrient impacts in surface, coastal and wastewater environments.

Edilm 🇫🇮 is developing a novel edible, hot‑water‑soluble film that replaces plastic sachets in products like instant meals. It is fully dissolving in hot water while maintaining food safety, convenience and shelf‑life.

The venture was selected for its innovative, zero‑waste approach that reduces single‑use plastic pollution in packaging and supports sustainable materials solutions rooted in natural ingredients.

Kilocode (Saaristo.online) 🇫🇮 is a digital platform that brings together services, information and local actors in the Finnish archipelago, making everyday life, tourism and entrepreneurship in coastal and island regions more accessible and connected.

The venture was selected for its role in strengthening digital infrastructure and visibility for archipelago communities, supporting sustainable coastal development through smart, user-centric digital solutions.

WAIing 🇫🇮 offers a portable, in-situ nutrient measurement system combined with cloud-based analytics that turns field nutrient data into long-term water intelligence and predictive models of nutrient flows from source to sea.

The venture was selected for its innovative approach to scalable, field-ready nutrient monitoring that improves understanding of eutrophication dynamics and supports smarter environmental and watershed management across freshwater and coastal systems.

Sub Marine Store 🇫🇮 operates an online platform offering unmanned surface vessels, underwater robots and research equipment that support hydrographic measurements, scientific exploration and maritime operations with flexible integration of sensors and payloads.

The venture was selected for its contribution to affordable, scalable underwater technology solutions that enable research, monitoring and operational capabilities across Nordic maritime and coastal regions.

Sireness Oy 🇫🇮 develops 100% biodegradable, bio-based oil spill response solutions that efficiently clean oil in water and on land with lower emissions and reduced operational costs. Founded by two women scientists, the company combines scientific expertise with sustainable standards to deliver next-generation marine protection tools.

The venture was selected for its innovative and ecologically responsible approach to oil spill response, replacing conventional fossil-based materials with fully biodegradable alternatives that mitigate environmental damage while maintaining high performance, therefore supporting cleaner seas and stronger resilience against ecological catastrophes in Nordic and Baltic maritime regions.

WESI Solutions 🇫🇮 develops AI‑enabled automation technology for fish farming that helps operators improve water quality, feeding efficiency and fish health while reducing environmental impacts through smarter, data‑driven aquaculture operations.

The venture was selected for its innovative use of smart sensor and AI technologies to increase sustainability and productivity in aquaculture systems, supporting responsible and scalable blue food solutions.

Emission-Eye 🇫🇮 delivers a blockchain-anchored, AI-powered maritime emissions tracking platform that provides real-time, verifiable greenhouse gas data for vessels, empowering shipping operators and regulators with transparent compliance intelligence and actionable insights.

The venture was selected for its pioneering approach to replacing estimated emissions reporting with regulation-grade, continuous measurement that supports maritime decarbonisation and builds trust through immutable data integrity across global oceanic and coastal routes.

Your Devocean 🇸🇪 is building an open platform that translates frontline ocean and freshwater conservation actions into audit‑grade ESG impact data that companies can trust and report for sustainability compliance.

The venture was selected for its innovative solution bridging underfunded marine projects and corporate sustainability needs, making ocean regeneration measurable, investable and aligned with evolving ESG and regulatory frameworks.

Nido 🇪🇸 develops nature-based biohybrid materials like NIDO Hydrogel that improve thermal inertia, fire resistance and acoustic insulation in wood-based construction systems while replacing carbon-intensive non-structural concrete and reducing overall building footprint.

The venture was selected for its innovative use of distributed ledger technology to digitalize and simplify maritime certification processes—helping maritime stakeholders improve operational efficiency while supporting compliance with environmental and safety standards in the Nordic and Baltic Sea regions.

Bulgaria

RedGet.io 🇧🇬 offers an AI‑powered greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions monitoring and reporting platform designed for ports, terminals and maritime stakeholders to automate tracking of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and turn fragmented operational data into clear, actionable insights.

The venture was selected for its innovative use of scalable, collaborative software that supports maritime decarbonization, ESG compliance and sustainability planning across marine logistics and blue economy operations
