Saara Vahvaselkä , PwC Finland

Saara is responsible for PwC's legal sustainability services and serves as the driver for the Value Chain services within the Sustainability Platform. She is a sought-after speaker and an experienced presenter. At PwC, Saara supports clients in various sustainability engagements, such as training personnel, preparing for the requirements of sustainability reporting, the EU Taxonomy, and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, as well as other compliance assignments, including assessing competition law risks, anti-corruption measures, and designing compliance programs and processes.

Saara holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki and an Executive MBA from Aalto University Executive Education. Additionally, she has obtained an M.A. in competition law and pursued further studies in competition economics at King’s College London.

Before joining PwC, Saara worked as General Counsel at Valio, where she was responsible not only for legal matters but also for the company’s Quality & Compliance functions, as well as human rights and social responsibility within Valio’s sustainability strategy. Saara was also a member of Valio’s Sustainability Steering Group.

At the Blue Connect Cruise, Saara will provide insight into how legislation and strategic choices can encourage and drive forward innovations and action in the blue economy. In addition, she will lead one of the event’s workshops.
