Ville Valtonen

Ville Valtonen is a Search Consultant at HRS Advisors Oy. In his work, he feels a great responsibility—both in making the right talent selections for his clients and ensuring the suitability of career moves for candidates. Success in executive search is a complex process. Old sayings such as "a person has two ears and one mouth," "homework must be done well," "luck improves with effort," and "never give up"encapsulate its key principles. At the core of everything is absolute confidentiality. Ville always meets candidates as equals and with respect.

Organizations and the people within them fascinate him, and this profession provides an opportunity to explore different industries beyond the surface level. However, it is equally important to avoid becoming "a jack of all trades."

Ville began his career as a recruitment consultant during the economic downturn of the 1990s and returned to executive search about ten years ago. In between, he spent many years in senior HR leadership roles within an international and dynamic organization, experiencing both rapid growth and significant challenges. Not all situations were easy, but they were all valuable learning experiences. While experience is beneficial, above all, it teaches humility in the face of new challenges.

Ville lives in Turku with his wife, while their children have already moved out on their own. Their family dog, Simo, still ensures that daily life stays active. He spends his free time in the farthest corners of Finland—Lapland and the Archipelago Sea. Ville has been an avid sailor since his youth and has even circumnavigated the globe. However, the most important things are always close by: a good life shared with his wife.
