What is Nordic Blue? 7-month equity-free Accelerator program by A’Pelago
Nordic Blue is a next-generation accelerator program designed to develop, scale, and support startups in the Nordic blue economy. After two successful programs, we are now seeking high-impact, early-stage companies with an MVP on the market for our first 2026 cohort, kicking off in January.

A’Pelago, the leading blue economy ecosystem in the Baltic Sea fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth, is proud to introduce the Nordic Blue 2026 Program — a forward-looking initiative designed to accelerate startups and scaleups delivering sustainable solutions for oceans, waterways, and coastal regions.
Following successful previous program cycles, Nordic Blue 2026 is seeking high-impact, early-stage companies working across aquaculture, marine biotech, ocean data, coastal infrastructure, circular materials, and related blue economy sectors.
Participants in the program will gain exclusive access to the Nordic region’s leading blue economy hubs, including key innovation ecosystems in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. Through on-site visits, industry immersions, and curated networking sessions, participants will connect with investors, corporates, and research leaders shaping the next generation of sustainable ocean solutions.
During the program, A’Pelago and expert program coaches will support each company in building the strategic foundations necessary for international growth, including:
- Nordic Market Access Strategy – identifying customers, partners, and pilot opportunities across the region.
- Investment Readiness & Funding Strategy – leveraging A’Pelago’s network of Nordic investors, funds, and public agencies.
- Impact Assessment – measuring and strengthening your company’s contribution to ocean health and climate resilience.
- Brand Positioning & Communications Strategy – enhancing visibility within the international blue economy community.
Ideal applicants are management-owned companies with innovative, scalable technologies and product MVPs already on the market that promote ecological and economic sustainability in the blue economy.

Program Timeline
- 20 September – 5 December 2025: Application Period
- February 2026: Kickoff Week in Finland
- March-June 2026: Coaching, field trips in Nordic countries, and ongoing support
- August 2026: Investor Day at A’Pelago Initiative, Ruissalo Shipyard, Turku
