What is it?

About A’Pelago Initiative

The A'Pelago Initiative is a Blue Economy event based in Finland, designed for people who want meet, learn and collaborate with founders, experts and investors who are taking initiative to reclaim the sea in the Blue economy field.

Since our 1st event in 2023, more than 450 founders, researchers, experts and investors have brought insights, initiated collaboration and exchanged ideas to reclaim the seas.

Why is it?

The purpose

The purpose of The A'Pelago Initiative is to bring together Blue economy focused stakeholders across the Blue economy taxonomy, as well as individuals who have not yet decided to take action but have the right mindset. As a joint seaside gathering the Initiative events serve as pivotal moments for

Dialogue to diversify and understand Blue economy,
Collaboration and competence building to innovate and
To take initiative in order to accelerate scaling and financing of regenerating blue solutions.

The A'Pelago Initiative 2025 year begins with A'Pelago ecosystem pre-event, the Blue Connect Cruise 27.2.

The year culminates in the A'Pelago Initiative 2025 main event: The A'Pelago Initiative 2025, taking place on 20-21st August at the Ruissalo Boatyard in Turku. It offers attendees seaside moments full of passionate dialogue, joy and the opportunity to take initiative. The program will present high level keynote speeches, fireside chats about Blue economy sub-sectors, investor presentations and A’Pelago Blue Connect pitches.

The A'Pelago Initiative goal is to accelerate science-based business initiatives reclaiming the sea and to be a driving force towards a regenerative future for all. There's also always a surprise band at the event, so put on your dancing shoes for the Archipelagic Evening Party.

The next A'Pelago Initiative is being prepared as we speak and the full program will be published during april 2025. The Initiative 2025 has chosen the theme The Ocean Starts Here. The event location for A'Pelago Initiative 2025 - August 20-21, is Ruissalon Telakka, Turku.

The 300-350 participants of the event will consist of A’Pelago Ecosystem Members, investors, corporations, startups, researchers, NGOs, people living in the archipelago and others who have the ability to innovate business initiatives beneficial to the sea regions.
