A’Pelago Blue Economy Academy will take place in Turku in 2026 as a collaboration between A’Pelago, universities and higher education institutions in the Turku region, and the Liedon Säästöpankkisäätiö Foundation.
About the Academy
A’Pelago Blue Economy Academy is a free course programme designed for university and higher education students in the Turku region. Depending on your institution, participants may earn 2 or 5 study credits.
The Academy introduces:
- The Blue Economy and its role in promoting the good condition of seas
- Event production within the maritime and sustainability sectors
- Career opportunities across startups, corporates, NGOs, and investment
The programme combines theory and hands-on practice, taught directly by professionals in the field.
In the practical part, students will:
- Train real working-life skills as part of the A’Pelago Initiative 2026 production
- Participate freely in the A’Pelago Initiative event for one full day alongside high-level international guests (ticket value 500 €)
You may also choose to participate only in the theory part of the Academy.

Who Can Apply?
Up to 50 students from universities and higher education institutions in the Turku region (Åbo Akademi University, University of Turku, Novia University of Applied Sciences and Turku University of Applied Sciences) will be selected based on applications.
