What is DIWA’s mission and your unique approach to reclaim the sea regions?
We analyse the complex interactions of hydrosphere, atmosphere and cryosphere - all states of water. We are working towards our digital twins and the services and products based on them improving the management of natural water resources, water distribution, flood and drought management and adaptation to climate change.
What does the A’Pelago Ecosystem enable for DIWA?
Science cannot solve all of world problems on it’s own - we need to create connections between researchers, policymakers, specialists and businesses to reach our goals - renewing, transforming and increasing the digitalization of the water sector.
How does DIWA collaborate with A’Pelago to drive innovation in the Blue Economy? What
specific services does DIWA provide to A’Pelago stakeholders to support the development
of sustainable business solutions and financing opportunities?
We are a strong partner in co-developing new innovations, piloting existing ideas and providing expert services in the form of science-business collaborations. We have currently more than 60 young scientists in training to become future experts for the Finnish water sector and related fields. We are looking for opportunities for them to train and participate in innovation and development work in Finnish companies.
