Joakim Lind, PhD, is a Swedish researcher, communications strategist, and senior advisor based in Stockholm. He holds a PhD in Economics and Business Administration from Åbo Akademi University, with a focus on international marketing, place branding, and narrative value creation. He also has a background in social anthropology from Lund University.
His work explores how narratives and storytelling shape the identity, attractiveness, and value of places, organizations, and innovations. In his doctoral research, he developed the concept of narrative capital to understand how stories create meaning, legitimacy, engagement, and long-term value.
For more than 25 years, Joakim has worked across research, consulting, and strategic communication. He has advised public institutions, regions, cultural organizations, innovation environments, startups, entrepreneurial companies, and large global technology companies. His work often focuses on helping organizations turn complex knowledge, emerging technologies, and societal challenges into narratives that create understanding, trust, collaboration, and momentum.
At the A’Pelago Initiative 2026, Joakim will lead Deep Dive III: Storytelling for Ocean and Business, exploring how storytelling can help ocean-focused entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and organizations turn knowledge into action, collaboration, and sustainable value.
