Karoliina Vilander

Community-focused service designer

Karoliina Vilander is a designer whose work brings together nervous system wellbeing, relaxation, and the creative process. She combines perspectives from both science and art, drawing on her extensive experience in community-based design processes.

For several years, Karoliina has worked at the Finnish Freshwater Foundation as a project leader and facilitator. In her role as a designer, she has developed solutions and methods that integrate water, the environment, and community experiences into the design process.

She lives in a picturesque 19th-century house in Porkkala, where her home environment reflects her sensitivity to nature, materials, and space—the very elements where creativity and tranquility can flourish.
