Principal Expert in Sustainable Finance - Nature at GRID‑Arendal

Natalie Mangondo is a Zimbabwean-based economist and sustainable finance specialist focused on aligning investment flows with climate resilience and nature-positive outcomes. She currently serves as Principal Expert in Sustainable Finance for Nature at GRID‑Arendal, where her work spans mobilisation of capital, building policy and institutional architecture, and embedding accountability to ensure finance supports vulnerable communities and ecosystems.

Her earlier roles include serving as Youth Fellow in Finance with the United Nations Climate Change High‑Level Champions Team and working on climate-investment plans, carbon-market policies and nature-finance frameworks across Southern Africa.

At A’Pelago Initiative 2026, Natalie brings critical insight on how coastal and island regions can access and channel finance towards Blue Economy transitions, how financial systems can be made more inclusive and equitable, and how nature and climate imperatives can be embedded into regional growth strategies.
