Kim Wikström
Professor in Industrial Economy, Åbo Akademi University
Before returning to academia 1992, Kim Wikström worked in engineering and construction companies within energy and marine projects. He has been visiting professor at Stanford University, USA, St. Petersburg State University, Russia and Tallinn Technical University, Estonia and visiting scholar at Norwegian University of Technology, Norway and Linköping University, Sweden. He co-founded the strategic research area “The Sea” at Åbo Akademi University. His research team focus on sustainable energy and logistics solutions including seaborne logistics and shipbuilding. He is the co-founder of PBI Foundation and PBI Research institute (university-based spin-off). PBI is collaborating with the cities and municipalities around Turku archipelago to create a more sustainable living environment.
He is chairman of the Board of Supervisors at Veritas Ltd, board member at ÅU Media, SeaKing Ltd and Åbo Akademi University.
