Sandra Bergqvist

Member of Parliament

Sandra Bergqvist is a Member of Parliament and Minister of Youth, Sport and Physical Activity. Sandra is based on the Nagu island in the archipelago in Southwest Finland, She was elected to Parliament in April 2019 and has been actively involved in archipelago policies, for example through her role as chair of the Archipelago Committee (Saaristoasiain neuvottelukunta / Skärgårdsdelegationen).

Sandra graduated from Åbo Akademi University in 2005 with a Master's degree in Politics, majoring in Public Administration. Sandra has always been interested in having an impact; in her younger years she was already upset by injustice in primary school. During her studies, she joined student politics, and after that also municipal politics. Sandra is chair of the Parainen City Council and vice-chair of the Swedish Parliamentary Group and the Swedish People’s party of Finland (SFP/RKP).

Sandra is a mother of three and, in addition to her parliamentary work, runs a farm with her siblings. In her spare time, she likes to run, read and spend time out in the nature in our unique archipelago.
