Blue economy pioneers across the Baltic Sea and beyond – welcome to

Our 3rd A'Pelago Initiative:
A vital forum for Blue Economy builders

The Initiative 2025 has chosen the theme The Ocean Starts Here.

We only have one Ocean on this planet. All waters are connected, there is no beginning or end. No sea can be revived in isolation, we need international cooperation.

However, for many in the A'Pelago ecosystem the Ocean starts here, at the Finnish Archipelago of the Baltic Sea. The Baltic Sea works as a laboratory for all seas. It is so shallow that problems will spring up here first, meaning that all solutions to improve its state will be of use for global sea restoration.

The Ocean Starts Here is also a statement that we have to join forces to make a difference. The Baltic Sea is not just a dirty pond, it is a sea full of opportunities. It can and it will generate new businesses and innovations. Local and international scientists, entrepreneurs, policy makers and investors will come together, right here. Our Ocean revival journey has started here.

In August 20–21 2025, dedicated entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, researcher, NGOs, decision makers and other specialists will gather to accelerate the Blue Economy. Over two dynamic days, we will put Finland’s coastal regions and islands on the world map of blue economy innovation.

Join us for the A’Pelago Initiative 2025. Be part of a dedicated ecosystem shaping the future of our seas.
