Timo Ketonen

Timo Ketonen is an entrepreneur and investor with a broad work experience in finance, media, marketing and service design. In 1988 he graduated from Åbo Akademi University with a M.Sc. in Economics majoring in international marketing. He founded his family investment company Aboa Advest in 2015. Aboa Advest has its focus on impact investing.

Timo has invested in a good number of growth companies both privately and through Aboa Advest and VC funds. During the past four years he has co-founded three new companies including A’Pelago Experience, the latter one together with Patrik Anckar. His responsibilities include Board memberships in several companies and foundations, including Chairman of the Board in Sofokus Ventures (Digital Heart Capital).

Timo is an avid cook specialising in Asian food and herbs. He loves music & lyrics and to play the guitar. He is a sailor since his early years and an outdoor person at heart. He enjoys life and work in the archipelago in SW Finland and sailing with his family and friends. He is always curious about different cultures and likes languages. Timo has lived in four countries during his professional career including several years in London.

In 2011 Timo sailed to Svalbard with his friends on their adventure to 80 degrees North. In the summer of 2023 Timo and his wife Anette sailed in the South Seas from Vanuatu to Papua New Guinea and through Torres Strait on board Capt. Tuomo Meretniemi's Swan 57 s/y Panacea.
